French Studies
At OJCS, our students get a head-start in French Studies with a Core French program that begins in kindergarten. In primary grade levels, we use the revolutionary AIM program (Accelerated Integrated Method), which uses gestures and music to enhance learning, continuing to develop the students' language skills and expand their vocabularies. Our K-3 students also receive French instruction in their Physical Education classes.
OJCS’s Extended French Program starts in Grade 4, providing students with six periods of French language instruction every week, as well as two periods of Social Studies in French. Students in Grades 6-8 receive French instruction in three History and Geography periods every week. Our French program prepares OJCS graduates for success in high school French Immersion and beyond.
