WINTER CLUBS AT HILLEL ACADEMY
If you want to sign up to any of the clubs, please email Ellie with your request, and bring in a cheque if there is a cost.
WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS
MS. KETTLE’S HOUSE LEAGUES:
Children in Grades 1-6 are invited to participate in our ever-popular house leagues! We’ll meet at 12:15 in order to have some great fun and exercise. There is no need to sign up – just show up in the gym on the day your team is scheduled to play and be ready for a great time.

Joseph and Max will be assisted by Morah Eliana in this club for people who like to write. Join our club and you will be writing poems and stories and then sharing them with a friend. Learn about different kinds of writing and poetry.

MS. MYHILL’S MATHELETES CLUB

The focus of the club will be to explore a variety of rich math problems, and to prepare for formal math contests. As well, the math club will coordinate a school-based Math Olympics. The format of this activity will be determined by the students and teachers working together.

Let’s bring the instruments out! From February to
June, we will be exploring a large assortment of Orff Percussion instruments
with a focus on the bass xylophones and metallophones, timpani drums, rhythm
sticks and temple blocks. Students
will be learning the art of rhythmic improvisation in an ensemble group with
the goal of performing at an end of year recital. Vocalization and body percussion will also be incorporated
into our compositions which will be original to the group.

Are you artistic, creative, and enjoy sharing your ideas with others? If so, look no further, the Hillel Academy Scrap booking Club is the right club for you. This semester, Morah Eliana will be organizing a scrap booking club for grades 5-8. Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Throughout the term, you will learn fun and interesting ways to organize some of your most cherished memories and pictures.
You will need to supply your own scrapbook unless you have one from Term One.

ALL NEW -RADICAL SCIENCE! Presented by Ray’s Reptile

Radical Scientists will infiltrate our school and fill your minds with educational, weird and interesting scientific facts. This 6 week club will have a different science topic every week.
We will be having a maximum of TWO groups, with 20 children per group. If your child would like to participate, please send in your cheque and you will receive a form from Radical Science that must also be handed in to Ellie.

Want to make a difference and help save the environment? This is the club for you! In the club, we will be discussing ways we can help the environment in our individual classrooms, Hillel Academy and at home. We will also be doing lots of exciting activities throughout the year such as expanding our recycling program at Hillel Academy, raising awareness in the school around environmental issues, and exploring the outdoors!

This club is essentially a continuation of the school choir with added elements of drama and choreographed dance steps. We will meet once per week to sing a repertoire of Broadway stage songs and current popular music. The focus will be on live stage performance as the group will be rehearsing for an end of year concert. There will be opportunities for soloing!
